Periodontal and Implant Associates, Inc. is Hiring a Dental Insurance Coordinator Near Cullman, AL

Our Team at Periodontal & Implant Associates, Inc. located in Cullman, AL is looking to add to our growing family! Our newest team member will be someone energetic, who enjoys working as a team, and providing quality and compassionate care to every patient.

The new team member will be responsible for submitting dental insurance claims and predeterminations to dental insurance providers with necessary documentation, following up on predeterminations and unpaid claims, answering patient billing questions, maintain monthly billing statements and patient accounts, as well as tracking/managing accounts receivables. This position will be in charge of managing communications with patients, care providers, insurance companies, and co-workers and we strive to provide the best periodontal and implant services.

Some of the essential duties and responsibilities include:
Communicating with patients about their status and condition-

  • Verifying and updating patients' insurance eligibility and benefits
  • Ensure dental insurance claims are submitted with accurate information.
  • Submit electronic and paper claims
  • Contact medical and dental insurance companies for eligibility and benefits
  • Follow-up on unpaid claims and predeterminations
  • Contact patients regarding payment obligations
  • Entering new patient information and updating patient charges as appropriate
  • Managing patient accounts with contact information, insurance, and financial information in a confidential manner
  • Serve as back up for the Front Office Business Team when needed

The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:

  • A minimum of 1 year dental/medical insurance experience
  • Knowledge of dental terminology and dental insurance practices
  • Previous experience in a periodontal implant office or similar practice
  • Knowledge of surgical dental procedures
  • Knowledge and ability to discuss financial arrangements with patients/families
  • The ability to manage difficult conversations with empathy and active listening skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills are required (bi-lingual is a plus), along with a proven ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • High proficiency with comfort with using various technology and systems

This position will work the following hours: Monday – Thursday, 8 am – 5 pm with a 30 minute lunch; we are closed on Fridays.
